2010 Komen Lubbock Area Race for the Cure

The Komen Lubbock Area Race for the Cure® is the largest foot-race in Lubbock, attracting more than 8,500 walkers, runners and spectators in 2009. Now in its 16th year, this event has raised more than $2.4 million to support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

Registration Fees

In the Pink ® - $60
In the Pink registration includes invitation to the In the Pink party (at the home of Chancellor & Mrs. Kent Hance) special gift, Race registration and Race
t-shirt.  

Docs for the Cure - $300
By registering as a Doc for the Cure, physicians send a strong message of support to breast cancer patients and a commitment to cure this disease.

Register as a Doc for the Cure and receive the following recognition:

  • 2010 Race for the Cure Registration
  • Docs for the Cure special apparel  
  • Race Day recognition
  • Access to the Survivor Think Pink Cafe on Race Day
  • Invitation to The In the Pink Party at the home of Chancellor and Mrs. Kent Hance
  • Recognition on the Komen Lubbock Newsletter
  • Recognition in the Komen Lubbock Race Thank You ad

Docs in Training - $25
Medical students at TTUHSC and other medical schools can support this year's Race by participating as Docs in Training. Includes Race registration and special Docs in
Training Race shirt.

Nurses for the Cure - $25
Nurses in the Lubbock area can support this year's Race by participating as a Nurse for the Cure.  Includes Race registration and special Nurses for the Cure Race shirt. 

Race Registration

There are three ways to register for the Komen Lubbock Area Race for the Cure:

ONLINE - Register online at race.komenlubbock.org until midnight on Friday, October 1st. 
NEW THIS YEAR - All participants who register online BEFORE Thursday, September 23rd at Noon will receive their packet via mail at NO extra charge.
Packets will be mailed starting August 23rd.

BY MAIL - Click here to download the registration form.  Mail the completed form to:

IN PERSON - Register at South Plains Mall at the Old Foot Locker (Between Sear's and Beall's) the following days:

Saturday, September 18th 11am - 4pm

Saturday, September 25th 10am - 5pm

Monday, September 27th Noon - 6pm

Tuesday, September 28th Noon - 6pm

Wednesday, September 29th Noon - 6pm

Thursday, September 30th Noon - 6pm

Friday, October 1st 11am - 2pm  

Race Packets

Individual Race packets including t-shirt and race bib will be available for pick up at the South Plains mall location (Between Sear's and Bealls) during the above listed registration times.  Participants who register by mail will need to pick up the Race packet at the mall location during the above registration times.  NEW THIS YEAR - All participants who register online will receive their packet via mail at NO extra charge.

Team Race packets will be available for pick up by the team captain on Saturday, September 25th from 10am - 5pm.   NEW THIS YEAR - team members who register online will receive their packet via mail at NO extra charge.  Team packets will only include materials for team members who register by mail or at the mall.
NOTE:  The team captain is responsible for picking up the team packet and distributing shirts and bibs to each team member.  The 20 largest teams will be delivered courtesy of UPS (Lubbock only).  

The Power of 10

Your registration gets you to the start line, your pledges get us to the Cures!  

This year, we're encouraging all participants to get involved in "The Power of 10".  It's simple, if each participant asks 10 people to donate at least $10 each Race participant will raise an extra $100.  Just imagine how much more of an impact we could have!
